Wines of Château Guges in the AOC HAUT MEDOC appellation
Located close to the Pauillac and Saint Estèphe appellations, our property of approximately 10 hectares benefits from one of the best terroirs in the HAUT MEDOC appellation thanks to the positioning of its plots.
First mentioned in 1769, the Château has just completed the overhaul of its chais with the installation of 14 new temperature-controlled vats. In addition, a new grape reception system has been put into operation.
Regular tillage and minimal use of chemicals, combined with manual, selective harvesting of grapes, allows us to offer you authentic wines artisanally aged exclusively in oak barrels for 12 to 18 months.
Thanks to the support of our highly qualified and talented oenologist in the creation of each of our wines, they offer a real mosaic of sensations, have a deep color, aromatic nose, pronounced aromas of fruits and berries, rich and captivating taste, perfect balance, elastic tannins. This is how Château Gugès wines can be characterized.
All this is due to our know-how in regards to the assemblage. In fact, the structure of each of our wines is formed by Cabernet Sauvignon with its characteristic nose of blackcurrant with nuances of tobacco and its high tannin content. It is blended with Merlot which offers roundness and velvetiness, but one can also find there complementary grape varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
With careful vinification and combination of traditions and innovations, our wines are rich and complex and offer good aging potential.
For oenophiles, the wines of Château Gugès are the benchmark of Bordeaux wines, because they truly reflect a unique terroir in the world, benefiting from a fertile soil, a climate and an exceptional geographical location.
